Lower Platens for Heat Presses

Platen

The platen is what decides whether a job is easy or awkward. A full-size platen is wrong for a sleeve, a youth shirt or a neck label — you end up fighting the garment and pressing creases into it. These change tool-free in seconds.

They fit both of our presses

Every platen here works on the 16″ × 20″ clamshell and the dual platen press. Buy them once. If you start on the clamshell and add the dual platen later, nothing is stranded.

Which one you need

  • Sleeves and Dual Sleeves — sleeve hits and numbers. Dual Sleeves does both arms in one press.
  • Youth Shirt — a full front on a youth garment without pressing the seams.
  • Label — neck labels and left-chest logos.
  • Tag Along — see below. This is the one to read about.
  • Polo and Combo — plackets and collars, where a flat platen presses a ridge into the garment. Combo handles cardigans, labels and polos in one.
  • Hat Bill, Round, Shoes, Can Cooler, Pant Leg — shapes a flat platen simply cannot reach.

Tag Along does two prints in one press

It has a separate raised area that lets you pull the back neck of the garment around to the front, so the front chest design and the printed neck tag press together.

That halves the press count on any tagged garment. A 200-shirt run with printed neck tags is 400 presses on a normal platen and 200 on this one. It is also the upgrade that makes spiritwear look bought rather than made — replacing the blank's manufacturer tag with a school tag is cheap, and most programs skip it only because it doubles the work.

Teflon protective covers

Most of these have a matching Teflon Teflon cover. Shoes, Round and Dual Sleeves do not — their shapes have no cover made for them. Check the cover listing before you order if you want the pair.

Schools, districts and booster clubs

We quote for requisitions. Email us what you need and we will send a quote you can attach to a purchase order, with a firm total — freight included, not "call for a shipping quote". A bookkeeper cannot submit a requisition against a number that might move.

Net 30 once your district has us set up. Georgia public schools and colleges are automatically exempt from sales tax and need no form from us; booster clubs and other 501(c)(3) groups are exempt once we have your ST-5 on file.

Our invoices read Morché Designs dba MoreTranz — the name already in several Georgia vendor systems, which is usually the slowest part of buying anything.
